Hi all - joined group today. Lots to take in - my story so far….

Visited gp end of May this year for swollen gland in neck - dr “fast tracked” me for test. Ultra sound and biopsy. Biopsy found nothing - I later found out it was inconclusive. Cat scan found nothing. Kept being told it’s maybe just a cyst but  specialist at heartlands wanted a pet to confirm before removal - was back in front of specialist in 10 days with cancer nurse in room. Specialist and dr had disagreement over next steps - just neck dissection or that + TORS to remove right tonsil & tongue base mucosectomy. So I have had two operations. Dissection confirmed cancer in the lymph glands and we are waiting for pathology on the removed material from the op on the 27th. Struggled with pain but managing to eat. I have found it a struggle to balance to meds and the morphine makes u feel poor - any tips welcome. I think I can see that a few of you have had similar situation where the primary source is a struggle to find and there are a few courses open. The radio / chemo looks brutal and finding this daunting but taking it one step at a time. I feel lucky that I have strong family and friends support.
