Hello everyone. I am 54 years old and have recently been diagnosed with cancer of the root of my tongue and lymph nodes. Despite the sad circumstances, it is good to know that we have people to learn from and share our experiences with. I leave you with strength and faith so that we can face this battle together.

  • Hi

    Welcome to our little community.
That was my diagnosis too except I had no nodal spread. I finished six weeks of radiotherapy in January 2019 and I’m very well.
The treatment is a real challenge but it doesn’t last long. Stay with us. There are lots of people here to help you

  • Hello. That's great to hear. Thank you very much.

  • That was my diagnosis too. I was 69 when it hit.  18 months downstream after surgery and radiotherapy I’m doing ok….as will you be.  Ask anything you want. Happy to share.

  • Hi Liz - I’m Nige, would you share your story with me please?

I’m on the same diagnosis as yours, had chemo and radiotherapy- but further to go as from my petct scan there are other things yet and I’m up for a further biopsy on the 10th June - under general anaesthetic.

    thanks - Nige
