radiotherapy Mon -fri for 6 weeks
I wasn't a candidate for surgery or chemotherapy and had six weeks of RT
Over six years later I'm still here and fighting fit
it physically and mentally exhausting .
Which is why you need to look after yourself too. Make sure you have some me time away from being a carer, even if it\s only a cup of coffee shopping with a friend

Hi Netti. So sorry to hear of your husband's cancer diagnosis, this is a worrying time for you both. You will both get all the support you need from this forum. There are many people who have experienced something similar so understand what you are both going through. The majority of us have had radiotherapy and sometimes chemo as well as part of our treatment and had good outcomes. The treatment can be hard but worth it. My last radiotherapy finished in 2019 (I also had radiotherapy in 2013 on the other side of my face due to jaw cancer) I am now living a very happy life so it is definitely doable. Stick with us as you will both get lots of practical support here.
Best wishes
Lyn

Hi Netti
sorry you’ve found yourself here radiotherapy is the main course of treatment for many so please try not ti worry . I wasn’t offered surgery as my cancer was not suitable for surgery. Chemotherapy oniy adds around 4% to the treatment success and I only had 2 if a planned 3 sessions. We’re all here to help you. Like Dani says remember to look after yourself you will take a lot if the strain and need to take time for you if only a coffee or a chat
hugs

Hi Netti. My husband finished 6 weeks of rt on Friday for tonsil cancer. He also had weekly chemo for 5 weeks. As others have said the treatment is extremely tough but doable. Take one day at a time. This site is amazing there is always someone here to offer advice and support.
