Mouth cancer

I was diagnosed with mouth cancer in December.  Massive op in Jan.  Jaw removed, part of tongue, base of mouth, lymph glands on that side. Everything cut out with clear margins.

3 weeks in hospital.  I was recovering really well and getting ready for chemo and radiotherapy to mop anything else up.

The scan For the radiotherapy has picked up a bit of new cancer in my mouth and possibly something in my lung. I was feeling great now I'm scared. Getting married soon and worried for my partner too.

I'm hoping the oncologist can come up with some treatment plan to give me some years.

Any advice welcome please.

  • Hello - I’m sorry, I don’t have any advice. I think I’m nearing the last days myself. I want you to know I’m with you in spirit and you are now in my prayers.  Be strong!  You have so much life ahead — you can do this!!  My friend had throat cancer and it’s been hell for him but he’s healing and is going to live!  I get so tired of hearing “stay positive” but you must, you can and you will.  I feel it - you’re going to get through this!  Seriously Innocent

  • Any advice welcome please.

So dreadfully sorry to read this. It’s heartbreaking especially considering what you have been through already.
Immunotherapy may be an option. There have been some good results.

  • Hi LuckyD

So sorry to read your post sounds like you had a pretty rough time already. The Oncologist will look at the best way to treat the new cancer hopefully like Dani and Hazel have already said may be a combination of both Immunotherapy and radiotherapy. Don’t give up hope that’s all we have it’s takes strength and resilience to get through having cancer and all that that brings , we all think we can’t or won’t be able to keep going but we do… take one day at a time x

Here whenever you need support  Big hugs to you and your fiancé
