I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere on the site the answer to this: but can anyone please advise roughly how many sessions it takes for acupuncture to make any significant difference to saliva?  I’ve now had 8 sessions.  Difficult to assess the magnitude of the improvement.  It has got a bit better, but I’m not sure exactly what I should be expecting.  It’s quite an expensive hobby!

  • I think all our reactions are different. I notice an improvement with half an hour of finishing my first session. It was temporary though but each further session extended that.
How often are your sessions scheduled?

  • Hi Dani

Yes, I rather thought there would be no ‘norm’.  I have been having two sessions a week and feel like a poor imitation of a pin cushion.

One bonus I wasn’t expecting is that the horrendous night cramps I was getting in my feet (pre dated radiotherapy) seem now to have disappeared.  Even if it doesn’t sort the saliva it will have been worth it.
