Hello all. I will be having a pet/ ct scan in April to see if treatments worked. ( I had chemo and radiation ). I wanted to know if treatment is very successful for hpv head neck scc oropharynx or is there a chance it didn’t work. Just worried and hate waiting. You can read my blog for more info. Thanks.
Five year survival is in excess of 90% I consider those pretty good odds
I'm six years out of treatment

No it doesn't mean that. We are never cured but the longer we stay cancer free the better the odds it won't recur. At five years we are discharged from routine review but remain patients.
