Been given Flamigel for neck 3 times a day and putting a bottle of water in freezer each morning to take with me to drink after to cool throat. So far so good…. doubt I’ll be saying this in a few weeks, but heyho, that’s life and we have to get on with it, and I am definitely swimming not sinking!
For the first 3-4 weeks I used to think 'I'm not enjoying this but I'm ok with it and we'll deal with next week when it comes.'
And you won't sink. If at times you can't swim you have a lot of helpful kind people keeping your head above the water until you can swim again.

I used aloe vera on my neck straight out of RT in the car on the way home. You won’t feel much in your throat for a couple of weeks. Then it starts with a prickle.
You won’t sink. Lots of people here to keep you afloat.

It helped me so much to discover that everything I encountered was to be expected and to get tips on how to cope with side effects.
