On my was to my first Radiotherapy session. A one hour drive to get there, arriving early for my 2.45pm appointment. Bizarrely I’m excited to get started, not at all fearful and looking forward to 3rd January when I’m all done. My husband goes in hospital for surgery on arthritic left thumb on 2nd Jan to a different hospital 35 miles in the opposite direction so friends will be roped in to take us to our respective hospitals.
Got iced water, Cetreben cream and a cotton scarf with me in readiness.

was fortunate in that my wife drove me every day
Same here. Singleton hospital was nearly a two hour drive on a bad day and though I avoided chemotherapy the days I had SLT/ dieticians/ bloods we were away the best part of a whole day. The last week I slept both ways. My husband was my hero.
