Hi all,
I recently received a diagnosis of squamous Cell Carcinoma which has metastasised in the cervical lymph node on my neck - I have a hard lump there which is about 6cm in size. I'm now waiting to see ENT Consultant on Tuesday with the results of CT and MRI scans. The waiting game is stressful as once I know,, then I can plan and deal with whatever is thrown my way. I must say I am so pleased to have joined this group, there is so much good advice which is very reassuring. I will keep you posted once I find out what the Primary is likely to be.
Hi Reneebabes welcome to the group, none of us wanted to join, but as we are here we all help each other when we can. The waiting is terrible, however when you get your treatment plan and treatment gets under way you will feel a lot better about things. Any worries or questions just ask, as many as you want, someone will always answer if they can.
Hi Reneebabes
welcome from me too
Cancer spread to the lymph node is the classic presentation of tonsil/base of tongue cancer caused by the HPV virus. This type of cancer is very sensitive to radiation and cure rates are in excess of 85% so hold onto that.
Everything will come together and you’ll feel much better about things when you get a plan of treatment.
The treatment is pants but it’s doable
Stick around. There is lots of help here and no question is silly.
Take care
Dani

Hello Reneebabes, I was in a similar situation last year, starting with lump on neck. It's such a scary and anxious time. My primary turned out to be quite a large base of tongue tumour. Once you have a treatment plan it's easier, you just have to get through it, and usually it works. I had 6 weeks chemo & radiotherapy, ending almost a year ago, and I'm all clear and fine now (touch wood). This forum is brilliant for info & support so stick with us. Sending love & luck
