  • Hi am new here, in November 2022 I had a operation to remove part of my jaw, part of both my cheek and tongue, this was replaced with bone and muscle from my leg followed by radiotherapy , in June this year I noticed the cancer came back in my cheek so in august I had more radiotherapy and on going  immunotherapy , I now suffer with excess saliva and phlegm that is so bad it makes me sick can anyone advise me of anything that can help with this as it’s getting so bad I don’t leave the house , thank you
  • Hi Reberto, sorry to hear that your cancer has come back, and you are now suffering from the side effects of your treatment. I had a lot of phlegm and saliva, after my treatment. My wife got a suction pump, which did help, clear some of it. Hope things improve for you soon.

    Regards Ray

  • Hi Roberto

One of the other things that helps is plenty of nebulising as this thins the mucus and makes it easier to clear, the suction is a great use, I was supplied both a suction and nebuliser from my hospital and 3 years later with my Laryngectomy I still use both in particular the suction as with us our noses don’t work. I also found a cheap one on Amazon but it’s not portable so I have that one in the bedroom just in case

    Hope it starts to improve
