Hi I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same, I had my operation April 5th, when in hospital a got an infection so had to go for another operation to relieve the fluid etc. I had a full neck dissection and one side was opened up again for second operation. A was back in Aug to get some dental implants put it. But just before and now I am getting a sharp pain inside my mouth which then runs down my neck. Also sore neck on outside which then at times runs into my cheek and gives me headaches. When eating it feels like am hitting a nerve and it’s causing discomfort, is this just everything just healing up or this something a should be worried about? I am going for another MRI a week today.
Hi
i understand how you feel. I had a full neck dissection and had 54 lymph nodes removed. I have suffered from pain in my neck, shoulder and arm since then. The one thing that helps is hydrotherapy. It’s helped me get full movement back in my arm and shoulder. So get yourself along to your local swimming pool. I have been doing it every week since my therapy sessions at the hospital.
regards
Debbie
Hi Debbie
I had 18 lymph nodes removed one side and 12 from the other. I go to physio for my shoulder and that has helped a lot. It’s strange as it’s only one side of my face am getting this but as a said it was opened up twice so is taken longer to heal. Thank for the reply
Hi Frank
Good advice from everyone but I was wondering whether the dental implants might have something to do with the pain. Can you go back to your prosthodontist or whoever put in the implants just to get them checked. I had dental implants put in also and have not had any issues but did find where they were put in ached a bit on one side when I was doing my mouth opening exercises and then that made my jaw ache for a while.
Just thinking of ruling out all possibilities.
Best wishes

Hi Sophie
A think if may be part of it the implants healing, one of the implants actually worked it’s way out a a few weeks ago, so must have taken to the bone. It’s very annoying the pain am feeling, it’s not all the time but defo feels like everything healing.
Thanks for the advice
