Hello all.  I'm finding learning how to use this site is not easy !  Maybe my age ?  Please see my profile for some biography (auto).

My top concern at present is total loss of sense of smell  -  coupled with not finding it easy to obtain a really detailed examination and diagnosis.  There's a vast amount of information about all the smell and taste disorders, but very little about getting examination and diagnosis.

I would be most interested to make contact with others in this situation.

  • Hi  and welcome.
I can see how you must be impacted. It’s such an important sense, isn’t it.
By the way, thanks for putting your details up in your profile. It would be so much easier to help if everyone did it… but I digress.
I can’t give you any personal insight but perhaps this IS a job for Google.
As an aside you could try acupuncture. I never put much faith in it before I had cancer but I always kept an open mind. It really gave my saliva a boost after radiotherapy.
I hope you find an answer. Do keep us in the loop.

  • Another thing… have you ever had Covid? Losing your sense of smell can be a serious side effect
I know I’ve read somewhere about training yourself to smell again. I’ll see if I can find it.
    Edit

    Yes. Google smell training.
    Maybe there is something there?

  • . . .  I have not had Covid  -  to the best of my knowledge.  Certainly, each time I have tested for it the result was negative.
