Quick update on my progress... Just about to start wk 3 radiotherapy. Just managing level 6 soft and bitesize. Noticed change in taste buds over past 3 days with some additional swelling - all to be expected from what i have read
Main reason for posting is that I have noticeable hair growth inside my mouth following jaw repair using facial free flap process. I have been told that the radiotherapy may deal with this eventually - any one experience this or have advice in the meantime?
Hi Interstep
I had my skin graft taken from the inside of my forearm. Fortunately I am not hairy there so do not have the issue with hair growth. On the bright side it does mean that your skin graft was very successful although on the down side it must be rather uncomfortable having hair growing where it is not supposed to. What does your medical team say about it as they must have encountered the issue many times before. They may have a solution to the hair growth issue. Fingers crossed that the radiotherapy fixes things.

Thanks for the replies.
I understand that laser inside mouth may be possible after a few months if radiotherapy does not resolve the issue. This will depend on my ability to open my jaw which is becoming more limited as predicted.
Unable to eat even mince or diced carrots today (first time experienced this) pso used liquid food supplement. I will try some puréed foods next time.
Start week 3 of radiotherapy tomorrow. Roll on September...
Hi mince is difficult for a good while plus mashed potatoes things ore cancercthat we think might be easier to eat invariably aren’t A rare rib eye is easier than anything with mince in ut. Sweet potatoes far easier than mash . 5 years ago I was eating okish part way through treatment thrm bang all of a sudden it deteriorated. Don’t try to fight it use the food supplement s if you’ve a peg use that. If not I had n g tube fitted it was a lifesaver.
