I have a question. Firstly I hope you are all in your best health. The question is, and this is going to be longwinded, apologies. 5 years ago a lesion was found under my tongue, dentist visit. They sent me to Kings. It was on the vein so they never took a biopsy, just monitored it and took photographs. The lesion is white. They discharged me after a year. 4 years later I get tooth ache again. Very poor dental hygiene on my part. The lesion is there has grown slightly, so I go to Northwick Park hospital, go under GA and they whip it out. Job done. You think. So 2 weeks ago, I get toothache….. again. The dentist calls another dentist in. Lesion back. Fast tracked to MacMillan Centre. Biopsy, well they could only get a bit of the front bit, they said they might have to book me in under GA to get the other bit from the back. Had an MRI. And I got a message Friday. They want to see me in 2 weeks. It’s a 15 minute appointment. By the way my consult said it’s red and whiteand 2cm. I was told the one that was whipped out was pre cancerous, and the doc said that is why it might not be good. I’m not scared. Just a bit pissed off that if it is something nefarious, just pick the phone up and call me. Is this normal??? I don’t know what on earth is happening. My appointment is the 29th
Hi Solitaire Sorry to hear of your problems. Your in the system and the wheels are turning so you just have to wait unfortunately. I got my oncologist appointment cancelled on Wednesday where I was to get my CT and MRI results for a few issues and was promised he would call at 2.30 0n Friday. He eventually called at 4.50 to tell me the good news. He did mention the Doctors strike also. Your in the experts hands and they will do whatever needs doing . All the Best Regards Minmax
Hi SOLITAIRE
These investigations are discussed by a panel of doctors first so it depends when it meets. It’s usually weekly so your appointment is slotted in afterwards. It’s rotten having to wait but all the results have to be reported and collated. Your two week weight is pretty good.
Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
