Hi 5083jack, welcome to the group, none of us wanted to join. There are many side effects from this treatment, but you will not get them all, the ones you do get let your team know, they will give you something for them. Many of us on here have had the same treatment, and are here wearing the T shirt, it's doable and you will be able to do it. We are all here to answer any questions you have. You will feel better about things when your treatment gets under way. Any questions just ask. All the best.
Regards Ray.
Hi Jack and welcome.
it’s a tough treatment but doable. I managed at 67 and I’m now four plus years clear.
One bit of advice. Don’t be brave. Tell your radiographers how you feel every day and take all the drugs they give you.
Most of us have a bit of a rough ride but nobody gets all the side effects and most of us recover well.
The cancer will take a year out of your life but things will be really very much better by six months. You’ll probably manage Christmas dinner.
Stick around. There’s lots of help here
Have a look at MarkEL Mark’s profile ( click on his name) He has a diary of his treatment that you might find useful
