My husband has a diagnosis on April 12th im disabled he’s my caregiver im scared but have no one I can turn too Broken heartBroken heart

  • So sorry to hear your bad news, Claire.
Your husband will indeed need a lot of care himself
For a start I would contact your GP so that some care fir both of you can be arranged.
Meanwhile give the Macmillan support line a ring. The number is at the bottom of this post. They will be able to give you some guidance as to how to get things in motion.
You can’t and don’t need to do this on your own.

  • Hi Claire Its the news none of us want to hear really. As Dani says get things in motion as you will both need looking after and support for a few months. Try not to worry , You will be able to get people in to help . All the Best Regards Minmax

  • Can't, at this stage add to what's above, but just wanted to say that I've been under the team at the RD&E for nearly ten years and two cancers now, and they're absolutely brilliant. Also get in touch with Force cancer charity which is in the hospital grounds, they'll help as well, lovely people.

  • Happy Days MikeO I have had a salvage neck dissection which they are keeping a close eye on now . All the best regards Minmax

  • Sorry to hear your news - I had an aggressive tongue cancer and now in recovery so if you or husband have any specific questions about that journey do feel free to ask. Best wishes.

  • Hi MikeO that is very encouraging to read. It does make me laugh when the oncologist says to me try not to think about the cancer. I think its easier said than done
