Larynx cancer hi first visit today to see surgeon I’m 6 weeks post 4 weeks radiotherapy for larynx cancer Dr did procedure to look from nose to throat. Never said a word just see you in two mnths lucky the macmillan nurse was there and took me to another room for a char she was pleased with the amount foods I’m managing to eat is it to early for them to say how the larynx looked today
Hi Tosca If he said see you in two months then there was nothing abnormal or unexpected he could see. Next time just ask him to explain.
His bedside manner is sadly lacking though

Yes. Not everybody has the empathy needed. I was lucky. My oncologist has patience and a sense of humour. I suppose if they have to face such pain then go back to their families and do it all again the next day and the next there has to be some way they can insulate themselves.
maybe you can ask your CNS to be in the room with you to help communication?
