1 year post treatment now ,feeling well except for side effects from radiotherapy and chemo, hearing problem and constant tinnitus  feels like im constantly under water

Waiting for hearing aids both ears hoping that this should help

Has anyone had side effects like this and if so have you been offered any sugery like grommets/ t tubes ??

  • You have my deepest sympathy. I suffered terribly from tinnitus following radiotherapy on the side of my head. I've had it for years but the noise just went off the scale. I rang my lovely Macmillan nurse in desperation, not really thinking much could be done but she recommended steroids to reduce the inflammation. It worked too. I took the steroids on a sliding scale and am now on a low maintenance daily dose . At the time, the tinnitus bothered me more than the cancer. I hope you can get some help too. xxx

  • Thank You

I will look into this X

  • I'm 10 wek post treatment and have hearing loss and tinnitus driving me mad. Also I  sound as if I have a cold also lymphodima in my neck. I really feel for you. I'm so scared of results of scans when I have them. Worried the cancer has spread. I know they say head and neck cancer is curable, but still Worried.

    1. It will be the platinum. So try not to stress about recurrence xx
