Hi everyone, first post and just wanted to say how amazing you all are. Your posts give me hope and good advice.
I was diagnosed with cancer in sinuses in Jan and have had a rapid two cycles of chemotherapy done already. The last set finishing Sunday night.
I struggled the first week of the first cycle with ulcers and thrush and the dreaded fatigue. This time around am finding issues with diarrhoea, I also suffer from ibs and have been given anti sickness and antibiotics this time around. I’ve got the tablets (imodioum) which gives slight release however every time I eat it just goes through me.
What types of food is best to help with this.
Hi Red
welcome to the community but sorry to see you here.
Thank you for the compliments. I think you’ll find that none of us consider ourselves brave or warriors. We do what has to be done to get through but we all help each other.
I can’t help with the IBS so I hope somebody can.
Is radiotherapy planned as well?

Fingers crossed results are good. RT is a real challenge but you’ll get through. Stick around there’s lots of help here.
One thing springs to mind. During RT most of us end up on meal replacement drinks called Ensures or Fortisips as we can’t swallow. These are really high in sugar and I know a few folk here with IBS have had problems with them. It’s worth asking about alternatives right out the outset rather than be chasing for them if you run into trouble.
