Hi.
I am on the two week pathway having had a painful throat for 2 months now. My appointment is in 11 days and I'm just not coping with the anxiety and pain. I can't sleep I can't stop fearing the worst and I'm petrified of any investigations let alone any treatment. I had a very traumatic experience 20 + years ago when a nasal tube was inserted and the thought of having anything like that again without being knocked out is terrifying. What do people do to cope with their anxiety?
Hi Caroline, been thinking about you this week as I know you were having your op. Take care
Thank you sooz
yes still in hospital, had my ups and downs with pain and emissions but doing ok I think
eaten very difficult but I’m just thinking bikini to help with that! Xx
Snooze sorry didn’t ask about you… what’s your news where you at? X
Appointment is tomorrow. Very nervous, but I need to know what's going on. 24 hours to go . X
Had the camera down the nose today. My husband came with me thankfully so there was no way he'd let me get away with not doing it.
Consultant wants me to have CT scan and an endoscopy under general anaesthetic in the next week or so. I'm still scared, but at least something is being done now

Oh, well done Sooz. It's not a pleasant procedure when you are in pain but at least it's done.
That's the first thing that was done to me, then I had an MRI and an endoscopy under anaesthetic. It's called a panendoscopy and they have a good look at your throat and mouth. It's nothing to worry about. I got a squirt of local up my nose. a premed into a vein and woke up when it was all over. I was just a little sore. After that I had a chest CT.
All the way through diagnosis and treatment everybody was gentle and kind with me and it sounds like you have good people round you.
