Hello all,
Well here I go into 6 weeks of treatment. One day a week of chemotherapy and 5 of radiotherapy, It seems a long time since I was diagnosed onnthe 5 November, but it's been quick I suppose.
Many people have told me it will get rough, so, yes, one day at a time. I'm determined to stay as fit as I can, and am annoyed that when overweight I have put on weight.
I no longer look at the Daily Mail, what a negative and obsessed paper it is with cancer.(nobody should read it anyway.) I have no time for language like "battle" or "fight" and so on. It's in the end only language that helps other people process this disease. Generally the media makes cancer a drama.
Mondays will be my longest day chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I have books and music. So day one here I come.

Indeed. We are not strong either. We just do what we have to. As for making cancer a drama the government needs constant poking over the lack of action so maybe it’s not a bad thing.
Take care Steve. Xx

Hi Steve
Good Luck with your treatment - I had 6 weeks of Radio and 2 chemo.
Having the treatment was pretty easy and straightforward really.
I was fortunate to have hospital supplied transport - most of which were taxis. I never realised that when taxi drivers go on mastermind, their specialist subject is tongue or throat cancer! The only scource i use for information is this website or my nurse who has been great as I can email her with questions, and you will see yours at every review anyway so you can ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.
I'm more than 12 weeks since the Radio and Chemo ended but I have some more stuff to be done unfortunately which I am a bit scared about, but remember everyone is different and you WILL get through this difficult journey.
Cheers
Steve

Oh that made me laugh!
I hope they didn’t tell you about the relatives that didn’t make it?
Why do people do that?
