Good morning,
I was diagnosed with P16 tonsil cancer on the 5 November, and my treatment starts on Monday (one day chemo, five days radiotherapy a week for 6 weeks).
Today I have my meeting with the dietitian, speech therapist, and others. I have also agreed to take part in the research side of things.
I know the coming weeks will be difficult, and recovery will take a long time, but, overall, I'm feeling positive. I have spent the last month improving my fitness, I am teaching myself to draw, and I read a lot of Stoic philosophy. (I recommend this branch of philosophy for our illness.) I have prepared as much as I can.
It's time to dig deep and push through.

Morning Steve, I’m just out of the other side of treatment 30 days of radiotherapy and 2 courses of chemotherapy. Wishing you well and sending all the positivity I can, trying to keep the tips and advice positive, make sure you have your pump for the feeding tube it will become invaluable, drink as much water as you can, moisturise your neck and listen to your body.
Radiotherapy didn’t really start affecting me until the last week but chemotherapy hits a day after treatment, but with treatment everyone is different. My two best friends had the same cancer and our journeys although the same in treatment our experiences are different.
stay positive and good luck
