Hi, I have been reading the forum for a couple of months due to my Mum being diagnosed with terminal Jaw cancer. She was diagnosed in July and given a prognosis of 1 maybe 2 years. She underwent 10 days of radiotherapy in the last two weeks of August which went well and she was in pretty good form. Since then things have got steadily worse and she is being prescribed higher doses of morphine and other pain meds every couple of weeks. She has a pain nurse who keeps an eye on her medication and visits every couple of weeks. She is losing weight as she is unable to tolerate much food (puréed) and hates milk so complan is not an option. The consultant keeps talking about her having a CT scan, but, she never gets an appointment for one. My question is if the radiotherapy had worked, should the pain be getting a little better after 3 months?

Hi Jules, my guess would be ,Yes
Unfortunately nobody can accurately predict the path an incurable cancer will take.
Time to press for that CT so that you know where she stands?
So sorry to read your post...It's a terrible thing for you all
