Hi, I had my op 2 weeks ago . My neck dissection had the staples out on Thursday, I awoke this morning and there’s a clear fluid coming from the wound. Is this normal ? Thanks
Hi, I would contact your team. If there is fluid still draining they need to look at it.

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
I had my first neck dissection on 6th Nov 2019 and was swimming with Manatees in Florida on the 26th November This was with full clinical agreement.
I went on to go on the rides in Orlando the following week and learned that they were OK to do. However, following my second dissection, although it healed just as quickly, I had more arm and neck trouble. Thus, when going to Florida in November 2021 I learned that my neck no longer felt good on the roller coasters. Small price to pay!
A roundabout way of saying a rapid recovery and quite good with an active life after the event. Hope that helps.
Hi Peter that has cheered me up really as one usually thinks the worse of these things. Should I be rethinking my work life I wonder if this is going to affect my movements. I suppose I will have to wait and see what the outcome is Well this time next week I will be under the knife .The phones been ringing for work but I dont feel like getting stressed out to much before op. Many Thanks
