Mouth cancer

Hi I'm MissMedusa and new to this group, currently waiting for biopsy results to determine whether I have mouth cancer, on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment Wave

  • Hi and welcome from me.  Sorry you find yourself here and fingers crossed your biopsy is negative and you can say goodbye!  In the mean time we will all agree that the waiting is the most stressful part of this whole process.  It will probably be 10+ days before you have an answer.  Hopefully they have booked you in for an appointment already to speak to your consultant.

Whatever you do stay off Google.  Most of the information is outdated and quite frightening.  The reality is treatments are so much better nowadays.  They are hard, but doable and most of our cancers respond well to treatment leading to a cure.  Recovery can be lengthy, but again most of us go onto a good quality of life afterwards.

Keep with us and we will be able to offer you a place to vent and some tips and tricks if you need them

  • Hi and welcome. I really do hope your results are negative but if they aren’t stay with us. There are loads of us here who’ve done it and survive well. I’m nearly 4 years clear of tongue cancer and having a well earned break in Berlin.
This period waiting for diagnosis is hell. All you can do is keep busy and stay off Google.
    Fingers crossed.
