Hello,

I have been diagnosed with T2 HP16 tonsil cancer. Yesterday I had my dental assessment and I got off lightly and only had one tooth removed from the rear of my mouth.  I have a meeting on the 8 December with the dietitian and others, so I assume my mask fitting will be between now and then.

I am trying to keep busy, I walk everyday, I lift some light weights. I have bought a book on how to sketch and draw, and I get out with my camera. There are days when I barely think about the cancer. I'm treating this pretreatment phase as a time to get mentally and physically prepared for the tougher times ahead.

My attitude to work was that I would never 'go sick' just for a day off because I might need it. Well look now. Thankfully I have 19 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay, so I might make it through financially stable.

For now it's preparation time.
