Hi
I had my mri scan last Sunday, last Monday I had an ultrasound where the doctor told me I had cancer but it is treatable. After this appointment I went straight up to another hospital to have a biopsy taken from my throat. A few days later I have a ct scan. I was told that on Wednesday 16 November I will have a treatment plan to discuss treatment. I have spend all day on the phone today chasing up my appointment that no one knows nothing about. I have emailed Pals but now I am left high and dry for the appointment.
Hi Beetroot welcome to our small community grouo. Take a deep breath head and neck cancers are eminently curable. There’s a tried and trusted routine. Have yiu been given a Macmillian ir cancer nurse number ir name. It does take time for Ct scans to be peer reviewed and in the scheme if things you’ve got to the scanning stage pretty quickly although probably not quick enough for you we’ve all been there. Don’t worry you won’t have been forgotten about. Do you have a name for consultants or oncologist? If so try their medical secretary. From being put in cancer pathway for suspected neck lump I was 63 days to first treatment other sometimes have been twice that time. Rant in here we will all help you.

Hi Beetroot and welcome from me too.
Im trying to get a timeline from your post
If you had a biopsy a week ago it’s likely the results won’t be available till next Monday at the earliest.
CT scans are taken by radiographers but interpreted by a radiologist and this is where the hold up lies.
The Wednesday date seems to me to be the day the MDT will meet with all your investigation results to discuss your treatment plan. Teams usually meet once a week to discuss all the patients in their care. Patients are not included. Once they have met you’ll be made an appointment and it’s possible this is why no such appointment yet exists for you.
I’ll echo what hazel says. If you have been given a Clinical Nurse Specialist contact them to clarify what’s happening. If not then get your GP to chase them up.
Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.
