First Meeting with Team: Throat Cancer Result

Hello, 

My second post. I had the first meeting with my treatment team today, after my diagnosis, and it went well. The throat cancer is localised to one tonsil and a small part of my neck. It   is HP 16 positive, which means it is easier to treat. I have no surgery, but 6-8 weeks of radiotherapy with some chemotherapy to help the radiotherapy work. 

So the journey starts.

  • Hi Steve. Remember HPV is good it means the tumour will respond very well to treatment. It’s not easy but I had 35 sessions if i can do it anyone can

    Hazel aka RadioactiveRaz 35 radiotherapy and 2 chemo  3 rd cancelled. HPV tonsil cancer 7 lymph nodes. 8 years post treatment living a great life. 
    No questions too daft to ask.

  • Steve - best of luck with the treatment.  I "only" had surgery so can't help with your course of treatment although many of the side effects are similar.
