Hello,

Hope everybody is doing okay.

I have a family member who has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the larynx which we understand is very rare in this area. Would really appreciate if anybody has an information on this type of laryngeal cancer.

Thank you.

  • Hi Riri and welcome to the community

This is indeed rare. I've done a search for you and can find nothing to help you

The people to ask are your family member's support team. Don't  bother with Google. Because it's such an extremely rare type of laryngeal cancer information on it is likely to be inaccurate and out of date.

    Best wishes

  • Hello Dani,

Thanks so much for your reply.

My Brother-in-law (50) is in Ireland and his medical team have told him this is very rare & there is no data available on it. Our thoughts were that there has to be somebody somewhere… He’s starting radiotherapy and chemotherapy so hoping his response will be positive.

Thanks again & I hope all is good with you.

  • Hi Riri. Welcome from me as well, we can all help with questions on chemo and radiotherapy, I had 35 radiotherapy sessions and 2 of a planned 3 chemotherapy cisplatin was the chemo for me.
Take treatment ine day at a time tell him nit to overthink anything

  • Thanks so much Hazel. It’s great to read that you’re doing so well 4 years post-treatment. The information sharing on this site is invaluable.

Fingers crossed. The RT will knock him back a bit but all the side effects are manageable. Chemo will make him feel pants for a while but it’s the RT that does the job.
If he wants to look in here he’ll meet a bunch of friendly folk who have been there and proudly wear their T shirts

    There’s always a helping hand.

  • I’ll definitely encourage him to come on here for some support. Neither himself nor my Sister are into social media but there’s great support in this forum.

    Thanks all,

    Rita
