Hi, I’m Dan and very new to the community. Last year I had full larynxdectomy so I now have a stoma. My question to anyone out there is, has anyone stopped using their nebuliser completely after time. Thanks everyone.
, but I think I will stop soon as the mucus has virtually gone. I have used it at other times if I think I have a lot of mucus in and around my stoma.
Regards,
Tommo
Hi Dan, welcome, difficult question, I use a neb but that's for my COPD more than the stoma, I was supplied one from day 1 and have used it everyday particularly with my second cancer treatment that the RT badly affected my stoma but I have recently started treaments via tablets to reduce the mucus and it is helping and I haven't nebd now for a couple of months but I still have it for if my chest is tight, so really as you see I use it for chest more than stoma
Perhaps speak with your Speech Therapists as they will have alook at your stoma and decide if it is hydrated enough, that was my main problem with the RT as it does no good for hydration.
Take care
Tony
