Hello everyone,
Discovering this forum and reading many of the posts has been really helpful, thanks to all for sharing.
I am mid diagnosis (had MRI today), CT/Bloods Friday for a 2cm cancerous area of my tongue following biopsy (ouch!). Just trying to get my head around a relatively fit, non-smoking and low alcohol 55 year old male has ended up here. Genetics huh!
Being in limbo for full prognosis is a bit challenging but I remain positive that this little bugger can be beaten!
Will try and add more value as my journey progresse.

Hi GeneSimmons
Guessing you are maybe a big Kiss fan if so rock on.
Sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. It is always a shock and it takes a while to get your head around it. Like many others on this forum including you I was also quite fit a non smoker, non drinker looking after my health including regular visits to the dentist and all the other checks to try and keep on top of any health issues. Just as well that I had regular dental checks as my dentist was the one that picked up the cancer when I was 59.
Life can be a ‘beach’ sometimes and throw you some curve balls and then it goes in a direction that you had not foreseen.
I have been on this journey for a while now and thanks to my wonderful medical team have come through treatment including several ops and radiotherapy twice and am enjoying my life to the max.
It can be hard at the beginning of the journey but you will get there.
Ask any questions you have to the forum as someone here will have experienced something similar.
Best wishes for your treatment.

Welcome from me too. I'm a three plus year survivor of tongue cancer. Had a review just yesterday. Stick with us , we all help each other get through and understand what's happening and why at a more personal level than our team can explain. Whereabouts on your tongue is the cancer?

Surgery might work alone then. Fingers crossed.
I believe it is to the right (as I look out) and sort of on side and to rear...
