Hi Steve. It’s never to late.
At three weeks you’re only just out of RT which has a residual effect for 2/3 weeks after you finish.
Lethargy is normal. Your body has taken a real pasting and it’s going to take months to recover. Slowly slowly a day at a time
How are you eating?
You can help the mucous along with sips of water or maybe even a nebuliser or steaming your head over hot water
It usually goes all of a sudden though it can hang around for a while before it does.
Gentle exercise keeps up your muscle strength and keeps you sane.
Have a read of this.

It might help.

Hi Steve the saliva secretions are getting to me too, I also have lymphodeama in my neck I finished my treatment end of April and I've only just found this wonderful site so it's never too late, I've been using a facial spa to help with the secretions I think it's starting to feel bit better. Like you I've lost over 4 stone which hasn't gone down well with my dietician she calls me every 10 days for updates, are you managing to eat at all yet? I pick at bits, the recovery is very slow but it is getting better week by week take care
Hi Kazz, Not able to eat a thing yet and not really able to drink much orally either. I'm now almost 4 weeks post-trearment. People are telling me not to worry or rush it but I'm also vomiting every couple of days which is undoing all my hard work. Time for a hospital visit I think.
Thank you Dani, I think the worst bit is that I am so far removed from the me I knew. I live alone and was only just getting used to that. So nobody to clean up, motivate, support or cry on. Some people are proving their value. Most are proving that I should no longer value them. Pretty low right now which again, just isn't me
Hi give your cancer nurse a call. Our treatment is pretty brutal it’s not uncommon for a mild course if anti depressants to be given. Maybe yiu need ti see dieticians as well. In meantime thys cook book night give you some ideas it’s written by a head and neck cancer patient.

Hi csteve. Well done getting through treatment. I found the weeks following the end of treatment extremely difficult. I was totally tired out, lot of pain when eating, very low mood etc etc. I never thought it would end…..but it does. We have all had some sort of treatment on here and we all get through it at some point. I am nearly 11 months now and life is much improved. It is very difficult in the beginning. Not easy for you living on your own. I am sending you all best wishes. Lizzie
