Finally got a call from hospital at 3pm bearing in mind I have been trying to get an answer since last Friday.
My Biopsy can't go ahead because I've had a chest infection and still on antibiotics
Now I have to wait until the 24th just for the biopsy and then longer for results, this journey is slow and hard.
Oh dear that will give time for chest infection to clear. At least they rang and saved you a wasted journey. Not ideal I kniw hooe you get sorted soon

Yes they have been a bit tardy haven’t they. We have to keep pushing but that’s the reality. We are individuals only to ourselves at the outset. My diagnosis was beset by delay and misunderstanding from the beginning but once I did get one I was swept off my feet at the speed of things.
I had an oncology consult and consent form to sign. A dental exam and X-ray, a mask.and planning CT and meetings with counsellors, a dietician and speech and language all in three days. Then I had to wait two months for radiotherapy’ capacity to become available.
Yes the waiting is awful especially as we need stuff done yesterday.
Chin up. You have a date now. Just avoid Covid.

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Trying to stay clear of covid after having it twice already I don't want it again.
I'm gonna see if consultant will refer me for a ct scan of my neck I know I can cope with that and maybe a fna for my neck lymph nodes I will probably have to pay private consultation but it will beorth it
It is s very long and slow process. I first saw a useless GP who told me it was muscular! Whole load of manic test, GAs, cameras down my throat tubes up my nose, teeth out, needle biopsies, 2 MRI scans, RIG going in and a further CT, I start treatment on the 15/8, yes it's taken that long. Once you're in the system it seems to move. I have a Macmillan Specialist Nurse Practioner who is my keyeorker she gets things done!
I can only relay my experiences, you just have to live with it and be patient and that's very hard when it's all so frightening.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
