hi.so today after many tests i was told i had cancer on tong which has spread to a node in my neck. they tell me its very aggressive and surgery could be an option as long as it hasn't spread to my chest. they sent me for CT scan today and they will tell me tomorrow if i can surgery next. if its in my chest they cant help me and it will be a matter of time.the surgery would be as fast as next Wednesday. i will have half tong removed and the node in my neck. I'm told recovery would a year with life changing results. i have x2 boys 17 and 13 to which is breaking my heart to tell them. has anyone had the surgery or something similar? they say its 40% success rate. very scared right now.
Hi Merlin and welcome. Sorry to see you here but it's a good place to be for help and advice. There are members here who have had just the same sort of cancer you describe. I have a friend who is well into her second year of recovery after a similar op, reconstruction and radiotherapy and is doing really well.
I'll tag her and see if she can come on to reassure you that all is not lost...Panch
