Hi , I was on good waywith my treatment even the pain and all bad things and on Monday I did LFT and I have covid. Temp and even more pain -throat. Soooo painful. Luckily I still have radiotherapy but my chemo stopped
I hope I can restart next week…my throat is in fire, I can’t swallow, I use morphine but it’s not good. The appetite - gone completely, all test and smell s@it . Only PEG keeps me going….trying my best to keep a few sips of water but it is really hard…
Any advice please
Ouch. That must be horrid.
Just use the PEG for food
Swilling morphine round your mouth can help. Then swallow. You can try soluble aspirin the same way but don’t swallow it.
I took morphine and paracetamol alternating every two hours then I was prescribed extended release morphine night and morning. Maybe increase your dose. Ask at radiotherapy. You can take a heck of a lot of morphine so don’t be scared of it.
I had a medicine called Antacid with Oxetecaine which is a local anaesthetic you gargle and swallow.
I had covid and was well out if it for three days. Hope you feel a little better on that front soon.

Hi at my worst I was in 40 mil if oramorph plus 8 x30 mg of cocodomol just check with team. Missing a chemo in scheme of things isn’t a huge deal. You can try flat Diet Coke as well it may help.

I feel so stupid, know that it’s hard to go through treatment …
Oh Barbara, you're not stupid. You are going through a heck of a trial. Do let your team know how desperate you feel. Don't suffer...tell them
