I had salivary gland cancer so whole patroid gland removed it then had spread to spine and pelvis was in a lot of pain left me with it for 7 months before doing radiotherapy that has helped why could it not have been done earlier

  • Hi Dave. So sorry to see you here with your story. I find it difficult to understand why you were kept waiting so long. When was the spread to your bones diagnosed?

  • It was aftera 3 month after having my gland removed the most annoying thing was when I went to GP he said the lump in my neck was a swollen nymph node and nothing to worry about so I did nothing for about it for  10 months but went to see another GP who told me it was possible cancer and so it was in hospital 1week after to have my whole gland removed and loads of nymph nodes 

  • Yes some GPs ( and dentists)  need to up their CPD. I hope your doctors can keep you comfortable for a long long time. Have you family to support you?

  • yes i do have family to support me if i didn't mate i don't know what i would have done it is so frustrating

    My husband has had headcand neck cancer his diagnosis was missed sounds like yrs left for nearly a yr before they sent him for scans etc anyway long story short after radiotherapy chemo and surgery it came back in  tongue that was removed jan 21 now back other side of tongue top of spine lymph glands near heart 2 in lung and now they have found lesion in hip they r going to do radiotherapy week after next to reduce that to reduce psin meanwhile he is having immunotherapy (cemiplimab) every 3 weeks and is on the hpv16 trial ..just really want to know how u r getting on after the radiotherapy for yr bone cancer ?
