So a wee update, started combined chemo yesterday. Sadly couldn’t get on the international CUP trial due to cell type. But on the Uk one where DNA sequencing will be carried out which may lead to other trials!
So had a restless night (think steroids didn’t help) just going to take the next few days easy.
still petrified what lies a head, the term treatable sounds good but knowing I will never be cured is horrific.
Ou boys are working will with their exams and we are so proud of them. The school have been amazing and have contacted the examination board to flag the situation incase appeals need to be submitted. So for now I will take any treatment they throw at me no matter how Rubbish it makes me fe if there is a chance it will kill the cancer then I will do it!

Hi Lynne. Thanks for update ,glad the school is flagging up that it’s possible there may be issues for your sons. Yes take whatever they throw at yiu m I’ve a friend who is cancer unknown primary as well, she is in a treatment plan, on her 2 nd bout of chemo she had 6 month remission before cancer reared it head. Her oncologist says it’s a sleeping lion it may stay asleep when or if it wakes we’ll hit it with a big dose of chemo. She too said to start with it was hard to imagine she wasn’t being cured but like you will take what they offer.
Keep in touch and fingers x for the DNA Sequencing
Hugs Hazel.

Lynne, Glad to hear the school are looking after the boys re the exams.
I think we can live with "never being cured" - we just need to be wary of return, but not live in fear of it. As I think I said before the first time around I lasted just over a year before it made its presence know again. I am now nearly 15 month on from that episode and rarely dwell on the matter. That said, for the purposes of travel insurance, my consultant pronounced me "cured" a couple of months ago, but I believe it is always a waiting game that you play to your advantage and not the cancer's advantage.
Good luck with the treatment.
