  1. A friend got me these. They are nutritionally balanced and have 550 cals per carton. I showed them to my dietician who seemed to like the look of them. On the website, it says they are aimed at people who are unable to eat. They aren’t cheap £15.80 for 4 but are a great alternative when I’ve had as much fortisip as I can take and they taste nice. I can’t find much that does at this point in time. Just thought I’d share x
  • Nearly as calorie dense as Fortisips too. Good find. Pity you can get them on R

  • Hi Have you tried ensure 2 kal you can get those on prescription ? I founds vanilla and banana palatable. Some can do the mocha ones .worth asking dietician for samples. there’s also scan shakes which are powder you mix up yourself. It’s a shame they aren’t on prescription the nourish ones though.

  • Hi Clare

Thanks for that it is always good to hear about alternative supplement drinks out there.

After my last op my dietician put me onto Fresubin 2kcal Fibre. It comes in chocolate, lemon, vanilla and neutral. I find the neutral which does not have a flavour good for putting on my Weet bix in place of milk and also thinning down anything that I puree to get the right consistency and it really helps to get the calories in. On top of that the fibre is great as living on puree makes getting enough fibre in your diet a bit of a challenge.

The Fresubin  drink also tastes nicer than Fortisip which I was using previously.

The process for ordering  is probably different in Australia to the U.K. but my dietician gave me a referral number and I ring the company and they deliver the drinks to my doorstep.
