Hi all I'm new here, I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago right tonsil base of tongue.Had CT scan and mask made last week PET CT scan this afternoon. Treatment starts Easter Mon 30 courses of radiotherapy and 6 weekly treatments of Chemo. Really not looking forward to all the side effects this treatment can cause.

  • Hi Birchy. Sorry to see you here but you’re in a good place for advice and support.

Really not looking forward to all the side effects this treatment can cause.

    Operative word is ALL.
Nobody gets them all and any you do get can be mitigated. They don’t happen all at once. Day by day is the way to get through this and you will.
Stick with us. There’s lots of help here. No question is silly. There will always be somebody to answer. Rants and bad language are allowed and encouraged too

I’m three years clear of radiotherapy. I have a blog linked below this post that might give you an overview. Also have a look at  profile. He has a great diary that’s worth looking at.
    Best wishes.
