Found a lump on my neck several months ago, childishly ignored it, finally got in front of the GP 4 weeks ago. Sent for an ultrsound, red flaggged to an ENT consultant, two weeks later I have a diagnosis and it looks like chemo and radiotherapy in January. I'm lucky that this one apparently reacts well to this treatment, so surgery shouldn't be necessary. Thankful to the most understanding and confidence inspiring consultant, scared to death, but trying hard to stay positive. Any guidance on how to deal with the upcoming treatment welcomed.

Enjoy Hazel; I just about have all my prep done, oven firing up in about ten minures so it's ready for 5.00-ish (if all goes to plan).

Thanks Hazel, we've totally avoided Google, as discussed with my Consultant! My tumor has a genetic marker (PV16?) which means it reacts well to chemo apparently, I'm 58 and in reasonable shape, aware that the treatment will be tough, but I'm ready to fight. I'll look at your blog, want to get as much info as I can, but from the right direction, none better than from those who know!
Hi h p v 16 + tumours response to treatment is excellent. Do as your team tells you snd ask us lot we will help yiu navigate the pitfalls
