Hi All.
Day 5 of treatment Chemoratiotherapy and I've hit my first wall. Nauseous like crazy despite taking the Tablets. Aching and shaking I was wondering if anyone had a horrid smell lingering over them. I've seen people describe it it's making me Puke.
That’s quite common. Lots of people think they smell but they don’t. If the tablets aren’t keeping a lid on the sickness tell your team and they will change them to something that works.
As far as food is concerned cisplatin can make everything taste metallic. Some people find eating with plastic cutlery helps.

Hi Remember tomorrow ask the team if your anti sickness meds can be changed in time for next chemo session. If you can manage ginger either fresh grated in hot water or ginger herbal tea it can help. It’s not uncommon unfortunately we are all started in the cheapest meds I’ve a friend who had 4 changes if tablets don’t be afraid to ask. Metallic and cardboard are quite common tastes plastic cutlery can help with the metallic taste. You won’t smell it could be your sense of smell has heightened as well. I had a horrible burning smell around the house some days.

I thought I smelt, some of it was changing to all the non-perfumed shampoos, etc and avoiding perfume on my neck, so maybe just actually smelt different. I switched from baby shampoo to aveeno, which was better for me.
On chemo nights I got a bit flushed and shivery. Only had a bit of nausea first week, sorry can't help there beyond what Dani & Hazel have said.
Hope you sort it! Week one done tomorrow, enjoy the rest from it at the weekend.
