Just been diagnosed last Thursday. Not really sure what to expect. Don't know much at the moment. Talking to surgeon on Friday. Not very good with this computer stuff either.
Welcome Barrie. We were all here in the same boat at one stage and understand how you feel. You’ll get lots of help along the way. Tell us more about yourself if you feel up to it. The first tip I can give you is to stay off Google. You’ll frighten yourself to death. Once you have a treatment plan in place you’ll have a goal and feel better in yourself. Best wishes.

Hi Barrie and welcome to the forum.
I was diagnosed with base of tongue cancer and finished my treatment in August 2018.
You should get some more information when you see your surgeon on Friday. Are you taking anyone with you to the appointment? It is helpful if you can as another pair of ears may pick up something you miss or ask questions you havn't thought of.
You'll find lots of support and useful tips here if you need it.

Hi Barrie. Sorry you find yourself in here but hang around and there’ll always be someone who can advise and help. No question is too trivial. We’ve all of us been there to some degree or other.
The early days, waiting for a diagnosis, treatment program etc, are some of the worst but, as Min says, try to go with the flow and don’t over-worry. You’re in the system now so that is a very good thing. You’ll find that once they’ve decided what’s what things will move along pretty quickly. Wishing you all the best, M.
Hi Min! Good to hear from you. I’m feeling good thanks. My neck still feels like shite some days but look how far we’ve come in since our diagnoses! You’re right - it’s been a bumpy old road the past year or so but we’re through the worst of it and getting back to ‘normal’. I see your posts now and again and remember our early days. Hope all is well. All the best, Mark
