  • Hi Slater and welcome.  You sound like you are having a tough time of things.

I only had surgery for my cancer, not radio or chemo.  For many the pathways is radio only and that as much success as any treatment.  There will be others who can explain the recovery process, but my understanding is that it is long but you get a good quality of life at the end of the process.  Those first few weeks after treatment ends can be quite challenging, but many will confirm that it does get much easier relatively quickly.

Ask away and there will be people who can answer specific questions.  As to help.  Maybe contact your local Macmillan to see what you may be entitled to??

  • Hi Slater. I’m 3 years post radiotherapy for tonsil cancer with several affected lymph nodes. The first few months if recovery are hard. Around 3? Months most see an improvement and by 6 months further progress I have  a blog details below with links to other sites it may help your son. There is an excellent chance of the treatment brkng successful but recovery can be long.
many questions just ask someone shoujd be able to help
