I had 35 radiotherapy sessions snd 2 out of planned 3 chemo. Treatment is hard but doable if I can do it you can. Best advise I can give you keep off dr google you’ll scare yourself. Any questions pop on here we will try and help. Trust in your team at hospital and take it one day at a time.

  • Hi Nitzke

Sorry to hear your diagnosis and that you need radiotherapy. However once your treatment is underway it will pass quickly.

I dreaded radiotherapy too but it boiled down to having it for my best chances to beat the cancer and there were lots of things I still wanted to do with my life.

It can be hard but with your supportive medical team you will get through. Ask them anything you want to know and don’t think you have to tough it out. Take your pain killers regularly and you’ll get through this time in your life.

Good luck with the treatment and keep coming onto the forum to ask questions as you need to.

  • Morning Nitzke,

Sorry you've had this news, but coming on here really has helped me in getting through this and hope it will you. The radiotherapy is daunting but was ok in itself, but it does take time to recover. However, it can be very effective, so is well worth it.

Your hospital team will guide you all the way. Take as much pain relief as needed, keep the calories up so your mask is snug and ask any questions you have.

Yep, sorry blog is wordy. I'm a chatterbox, so resting voice turned to typing lots! Confused Make yourself a cuppa 1st Joy

    Take care, Ronnie
