Hi All, I'm Rachael. I just had a minor salivary gland tumour on the hard palate removed. 4 days post op, so still hurts like hell. It's a mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Hoping its self contained and that is it but will have to wait until it comes back from the lab.

  • Hi Rachel

Welcome to this forum but sorry for the reason you are here. I have minor salivary gland cancer (ACC) different type to yours. My troubles started 2009. Sorry to read you are in a lot of pain, if it continues I would contact your medical team so they can help with your pain relief if needed. Getting on top of pain is key. We all understand how hard waiting for results are. I wish you all the best and fingers crossed it has all been removed.

Let us know how things go and we will be here for you if we can help.

    Best Wishes

    Nicky

  • Wow, 2009 is a long time. I guess I.am sort of hoping that the surgery will be and end to it, but I guess things don't always work out that way.

  • Yes it has been a long old road for me. My fingers crossed for you they have got it all out.

    Best Wishes

  • Well, I hope you can get on top of yours. Sounds tough. TBH i never really thought about any of this all that much, and now bang it's always there. Must hve turned your life upside down

  • Yes the early days are tough as it is always on our minds. Cancer comes as shock to us all.  Once we know where we are it gets a little easier. This forum is great as someone will always try to help if you need to share your worries.

    Take Care
