Hi All
I am now 10 weeks post treatment, following 30 RT sessions and 4 lots of chemo to treat tonsil cancer spread to 2 lymph nodes.
I am pleased to say that I am recovering well. I am pain free and off all meds. Struggling with fatigue but I am getting stronger each week and can now potter about.
My tastebuds are improving too, the metallic and salt tastes have now gone although some things I still can’t taste at all yet. I can eat a wide range of food, even mild spicy food which is a relief as I love a bit of spice lol.
I still can’t eat without drinking copious amounts of water to wash down every mouthful though. I was wondering whether you could tell me how long it took for you to be able to eat better and without pints of water to wash things down, if at all.
I would like to think this would improve although I know I am likely to always have a dry mouth. I get food stuck all around the front of my teeth and gums when I eat so am avoiding eating out at the moment.
Your advice would be most appreciated as always
Thanks
Michelle
