Just had follow up appointment with ENT. Had PET scan in August after CRT for tonsil cancer. Complete response at tumour site but faint activity in very small level 3 neck node SUV 1.5. Repeat scan on 17th Oct to check this node and now all clear. However, the scan has shown a hot spot on my liver and now need an MRI scan to investigate. The consultant was stumped as she didn’t think it was related to the tonsil cancer as it doesn’t follow the pattern.
As you can imagine, I’m utterly devastated at this finding, although it could be something totally unrelated and non concerning, my mind is going to a very dark place now

Hi Ally, good news about the lymph node
Your consultant is well aware that only 10% to 15% of tonsil cancer spreads anywhere and 99% of that is to lungs and bones so take a deep breath and try to put this away. There are lots of benign conditions that cause avid liver spots so try to focus on that. I know it's hard but the stats(useful at times) are well in your favour. Hugs
