i’m just wondering if anyone else is going through wat i am thursday afternoon i had to have all my teeth removed as starting radiotherapy in next 3 weeks im abso heartbroken with how i look is there anyone going through the same as be please some advice

  • Hi Tannis

It’s awful that you have had to have all your teeth removed. Usually it’s just decayed or at risk teeth that are removed to prevent complications post treatment.
Why did they have to remove ALL of them?
You must be in a lot of discomfort. Hope you have some support at home.

  • Hi that does sound a bit drastic but hopefully it will prevent further complications down the road in years to come. Did they explain why they are taking so many out?  Often it is just one or 2 taken as a precaution.

I have just replied to the post you put up in the radiotherapy section. Because RT to the throat is quite different to anywhere else you're not likely to get a meaningful reply there so stick with us. Don't panic. Your team will not leave you in pain and unable to get food into you.

My trust policy was to refuse a PEG. I had an NG and it saved my life. Can you remind me where you are being treated?
