Hi all,

I am four years post treatment - but suddenly noticed a difference in my taste - it was not good at the best of times - but is now more metally?  Has anyone else come across a change?

Thanks,

Lizzie

  • 3 years since CRT finished...Most things are back to normal, bread varies sometimes OK, sometimes tasteless, bread rolls seem to be fine, scones tasteless, chocolate comes and goes... strange times for us...I had a heart attack in November last year and my taste disappeared for a fortnight... that was a worry...we are a bit fragile in some areas.

  • Oh my word - you’ve been through the mill!! I can’t eat hot/spicy/hard food/acidic/fizzy, etc - and my taste wasn’t too bad - but as I say it has suddenly changed!!

  • Mine changes on a regular basis, but more in terms of what I can taste and tolerate rather than the salty/metallic many of us got during RT.  Hopefully yours moves back to a more acceptable taste in a short while.

  • Oh the joys!!  Thank you!!

  • I'm over 8 years post treatment, and still from time-to-time things don't taste how they should, it's quite normal after the frying our mouth gets, it's often called our new normal.

  • Whoopie do!! So it might come and go?

    Thank you!!
