Hi all,
so today’s issue seems to be my mouth constantly filling with thick creamy foam like saliva. This has been going on a few days but seems worse today. I have to constantly spit it out from morning to night. Just wondering if anyone else had this.
for context I’ve 6 radiotherapy sessions left of my 30
thanks
Yes. I just had to spit it out. My mouth was chewing the thick saliva into a foam unconsciously. A frothy mouth is a classic sign of xerostomia
I used to go through rolls of kitchen roll at night I just dropped the used tissue to the floor then collected it up into a paper bag to pop into the Rayburn
Its fairly normal
Drinking lots helps whether the intake is oral or via tube.

If the froth then thick mucous is a real problem making you choke or nauseous then some people have been given off label Carbocysteine.
I can’t recall exactly how long it lasted but definitely for a good couple of months after treatment end. It just stopped practically overnight when the surviving small salivary glands stepped up.

Hi it’s common it gues as quickly as it came to be replaced with dry mouth. I literally pulled it out with my fingers gross as it sounds.
I was prescribed carbusistine to thin it did it work nit really. I found soda water or flat Diet Coke rinsed round mouth helped. I was having 3 liters of liquid a day including like warm peppermint Rez in to feeding tube ti increase my uptake.
